Manson, N.G., presided over a well-attended meeting of Washington Lodge, the attendance being swelled by visitors from Rigdely, Star of Linwood, Star of Opawa, and Star of St. I Albans. Four candidates were proposed for membership. A special meeting was arranged for November 11 for Initiation. The North Canterbury Encampment No. 3, advised of its meeting on November 6, when the Golden Rule, would be conferred, The lodge ad* journed and members of the H.A.C.8.5., St. Patrick's branch, were introduced and welcomed. The remainder of the evening was spent in cards and bowls, the visitors winning the majority of the games.
