ARBITRATORS AWARD INCREASE IN WAGES (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIBBLBSS.) (Received November 6, 7.5 p.m.) RUGBY, November 5. Three independent arbitrators, Lord Bridgeman, Sir David Shackleton, and Mr Warner, appointed by the Labour Minister (Mr Oliver Stanley) and the Secretary for Mines (Mr Ernest Brown) to adjudicate on the recent wages dispute in the South Wales coal trade, have issued their award. It gives an increase of 2J per cent, in the minimum percentage on base rates up to 22i per cent., bringing wages up to 8s 4d a day. A flat rate of 7s B<i was awarded to day rate men, a daily increase of 2d to Bd, according to their previous rates.
