NEW METHOD OF VOTING
ADOPTION BY CITY COUNCIL The Christchurch City Council last evening approved of a resolution adopting the method of voting in the council's elections and polls by a cross. In future a voter will mark a cross in the square opposite the name of the candidate for whom he desires to vote instead of striking out names. Similarly when a poll is taken the voter will mark a cross in the square opposite the proposal for which he desires to vote. This will be the method of voting at all elections conducted by the council on behalf of any public body or local authority, any of whose members are elected wholly or partly by electors or ratepayers of the city. The resolution will take effect immediately.
