TO THX EUIXOE or TBI PItCSS. Sir,—it was a thrilling sight to see this wonderful horse winning the one mile and a quarter race on Saturday in record time. Several watches made him go lmin 0 2-ssee for his last halfmile. 1.3 there any reason why the gold cup offered for the mile record has not been attacked. It looks as if Harold Logan could walk away with it. Is it a fact that Mr Ernie Hinds has not been given an opportunity to let his horse have a go for it?— Yours, etc., «■ SPEED. October 7, 1934. [Mr J. C. Clarkson, chairman of the programme committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, says: "Mr Hinds has been afforded the opportunity of going against the record and winning the Bulloch Lade Gold Cup. The committee of the Metropolitan Trotting Club will also afford him every opportunity at future meetings to win the trophy."!
