Clark find Harry Tickle, v.'ill be soon in action in the South Island in December. They will come from Australia under an engagement ■with the Otago Amateur SwimminK Centre, and negotiations to have them visit Chrtstchurch have been undertaken by the Elmwood Swimming Club. Dudley Hellmrieh, Australia's leading coach, will be with the swimmers and will probably coach members of the Elmwood Club. Subject to the approval of the Canterbury Swimming Centre it is hoped to have the Australians here from Friday, December 14. to the Sunday, vith a carnival in the Tepid Baths, if 'Hit visitors are available, on the feaiurday night. The two Australians have splendid •records. Clark is the 100 yards backstroke champion of Australia, his timo toeing 60 l-.3sec; he also secured second place in the Australian 100 yards •'hamplonship. He has performed ■splendidly in New South Wales title (events. He is 13 years of age and in iNew South Wales won every age title iff cm 12 to 10 years. Clark is a student of Sydney University, but his tiudies were interrupted in consaquence of his having been chosen as » member of the Australian Empire Games team. When at the Sydney High School, he was considered to be the finest all-round schoolboy athlete Australia had ever produced. Pie has shone as a Rugby forward, in eightoar rowing, and in athletic field events. He is six feet and weighs 13 stone. Tickle, who is 21 years of age, is one of the most finished and spectacular divers Australia has ever developed and ha» come into considerable prominence since his first big successes in 1931-32. Last season Tickle won every competition in "which he competed in Sydney, taking both the high and low New South Wales titles. Hellmrieh, who has been honorary •ccrctary of the New South Wales Amateur Swimming Association for 'lie last four years, was appointed chief coach in 1928 and has developed such stars as Noel Ryan, Bonnie MealJean Cocks, Vic Besomo an !
