LINWOOD AVENUE SCHOOL
ACCOMMODATION OVERTAXED About 100 more pupils than there is accommodation for are at present attending the Linwood Avenue School, and the parents of about 50, who live outside the district, have been asked to transfer them to their own district schools to make room for the children who live in the Linwood avenue school district. The Linwood Avenue School, which is oi tne open-air type, has been very popular ever since it was opened, and the roll number has increased steadily, many persons who have moved from the district preferring to keep their children at the school, even though it means that they have to travel fairly long distances each day to reach it. The school is designed to accommodate 506 children, whereas it now holds 615, so that even when the transferring of children to other schools has been completed the accommodation will still be taxed.
