EDGWARE OR EDGEWARE?
10 THE EDITOtt OIT THE PBESS. Sir,—Regarding the letter of "N.R.S." in your columns to-day about the spelling of street names wrongly, in which he says that Edgeware road should be spelt Edgware, I can inform "N.R.S." that Edgeware road was named by the late W. H. Butler at a public meeting held to name streets in the district fully 60 years ago. I think it was named after a road in England, as I was there at the meeting and understood this to be so. Probably some of your correspondents know of such road and its correct spelling.—Yours, etc.,
P. 0.8. [The well-known road in London is spelt "Edgware."—Ed. "The Press."]
