THREE PERSONS INJURED

VAN GOES OVER BANK AT KAIKOURA

A motor-van owned and driven by James Woods, a fishmonger, of Rangiora, who had with him as passengers Mr and Mrs Sidney Murfitt, of Rangiora, went over a bank near the Kaikoura racecourse early yesterday morning. The van struck a fence, and rolled on to the racecourse. Woods had the left arm and two ribs broken, Murfitt received a compound fracture of the left arm and had his collarbone and a • rib broken. Mrs Murfitt escaped with facial injuries. Woods and Murfitt were admitted tc the Kaikoura Public Hospital. The van was badly damaged, the bodywork being shattered.
