YOUTH RALLY IN MERIVALE
The lirst rally of the "Youth for; Christ" campaign in the Merivale dis-j trict was held in the Rugby Street j Methodist Schoolroom on Saturday night. Representatives from the St. I Barnabas, Fendalton, St. Mary's, j Merivale (Anglican), Rugby Street | and Bryndwr (Methodist), Fulton j Avenue, and Knox (Presbyterian) Churches were present. j A social programme was arranged for the first portion of the evening and was followed by the campaign address by the Rev. A. K. Warren. The aims of the campaign, said Mr ■ Warren, were those contained in the motto of the Church Army, "Convertion, Consecration, Churchmanship." It was necessary to dispel the suggestion that the church had failed. That charitable institutions had been taken over by civic authorities was proof of its triumph in awakening Christian responsibility. The first three of the next meeting nights will be held at St. Barnabas' Church, Fendalton, and the next three nights of the same week will be held at the Rugby Street Methodi:t Church. The last six meetings ai: J. the Sunday district rally will be held in the Knox Presbyterian Church schoolroom.
