GOLF

MUNICIPAL LINKS VERY SATISFACTORY YEAR It is hoped that the Municipal golf links at New Brighton will be selfsupporting in future, according to the annual report on the links placed before the City Council at its meeting last night. The annual statement showed very satisfactory progress for the year. In the statement of accounts it was shown that receipts totalled £742 12s lid, towards which the principal items were £335 18s from annual players and £332 5s from round fees and £52 2s 6d from day and weekly players. Expenditure totalled £651 6s 6d. leaving an actual balance on working of £9l 6s 5d in credit. However, commitments totalled £135 6s, leaving a debit of £43 19s 7d for 11 months. The balance-sheet, however, included several items on the expenditure side which would not be recurring. The addition was made to the report that the committee hopes to pay off the debit balance in 1934-35, and anticipates that from now on the links will be self-supporting. The report was received and adopted.

HANMER SPRINGS CLUB The Hanmer Springs Golf Club played a medal foursome during the week-end. The winners were Mrs J. W. Ross and Miss J. Sutherland, with a net score of 65.
