THE CANCELLED CRICKET TOUR
TO TDK EDITOR OF THE I'IISS. Sir,—l think that, both the Board of Control (Australia) and the New Zealand .Cricket Council with a little diplomacy could have arranged a team to visit New Zealand without the loss of a penny. What is wrong with Macartney, Bardslcy. Mailcy, Collins, J. Gregory, Blackie, Ironmonger, and Oxenham—all test, players, who are playing good club cricket yet? These players, with Badcock, Walker, and the rest of the team picked, woj-ild teach New Zealanders more about cricket than the test team. If £3 was spent on the telephone it would, in my opinion, have given the New Zealand cricketing public their money's worth. What of New Zealand cricket? This season there has not been and will not be, a single match worth a shilling entrance fee.— Yours, etc., HiLLFTE. February 14. 10:',t.
