MORE TROUBLE IN SPAIN

* REVOLUTION FEARED DANGEROUS CONSERVATIVE MEASURES (L'NITED PI ESS ASSOCIATION—BY ELECTIUC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (■Received February 12, 11.10 p.m.) MADRID, February 12. Grave fears are felt that a revolution, with bloodshed, is inevitable. The Minister for War (Senor Martinez Barrio) admits that discontent in the army adds to the complications. The parliamentary recess has been extended to February 20 to give the Government a breathingspace, but there is danger of fierce labour reaction if the Government resigns and allows the Catholics to take office. The Government has already tabled bills providing for the state to go on paying the clergy and for the return of the confiscated estates of the grandees. These were the minimum conditions imposed by the Agrarians and non-socialists for supporting the radicals. In the meantime recklessness among students and Fascists is producing many outrages. STREET CLASHES IN MADRID STUDENT SHOT DEAD MADRID, February 11. Serious street clashes occurred between socialists and students who were distributing handbills. One student was shot dead and others were wounded.
