EASTERLY GALE RAGING (PKE3S ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, September 10. A very strong easterly gale ha: been raging since last night. The sea is so heavy in the harbour thai the port health officer was unable to board the Canadian Victor, whicl arrived from Montreal last night. Heavy seas are lashing the waterfront, and motors using the roac were drenched in salt spray. The ferry steamers crossing the harboui were severely buffeted, the spraj going right over their .funnels. Mos* yachts and launches are up for th< winter, and so far no small craf have been driven ashore. Fruit trees in blossom will be seri ously affected.
