THEFT OF DIAMOND RING ALLEGED

(PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAK.) AUCKLAND, September 9. Dorothy Meyrick, aged 28, appeared in the Magistrate's Court to-day charged with stealing a diamond ring valued at £l7 10s. the property of Head Bros. The police asked tor a remand to enable further enquiries, as the woman was arrested only last evening. Accused did not apply for bail, and in reply to the magistrate the police said she was to stay in custody. She would not stay anywhere else.
