METHODIST CHURCH.

WOOLSTON CIRCUIT. The quarterly meeting of the Woolston Methodist circuit was held at Opawa. Owing to the absence of the Rev. J. Harris through indisposition, the chairman of the district, the Rev. Clarence Eaton, presided. The financial statement for the quarter showed a credit balance. The reports on young people's work in the circuit indicated that steady progress was being made. The Sunday schools were well staffed and the average attendance of scholars was very satisfactory. The Bible classes and young people's societies were well attended and enthusiastically supported. Arrangements were made for the Rev. A. H. Scriven, general secretary of foreign missions, to do deputation work in the various parts of the circuit during the coming quarter. Following a discussion on the work of God in the circuit, the need for more fellowship and prayer in each church was emphasised. Mr E. R. Christian, who has been conducting-services for some time, was raised to the status of a fullyaccredited local preacher. The meeting placed on record its appreciation of the most faithful and efficient services rendered to the Methodist Church by the Rev. Samuel La wry.
