PICTURE THEATRES.

THE CIVIC. " THE FLAG LIEUTENANT." "The Flag Lieutenant," with which the popular actor, Henry Edwards, has been associated from its beginning, on stage and screen, is still delighting audiences at the Civic Theatre, as an English talking classic. The story is worthy; there is everything in it that makes for special appeal to British audiences —wit, humour, and dramatic intensity—and this accounts for the unbounded popularity with which the British Dominions Films production is received. The dressing and mounting of the piece are on a lavish scale and the acting of every member of the cast would be difficult to better. Henry Edwards, in his original role of dashing devil-may-care Dickie Lascelles, a man who would give his life for his friend, is especially brilliant. He is admirably assisted by the splendid performance of Anna Neagle, an actress of charming personality. The selected short subjects, which precede the main picture are of unusual merit. The next change of programme will be "The Love Contract," presenting dainty Winifred Shotter in her first starring role. Theatre Royal—"Rain," 2.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Regent Theatre "Christopher Strong," 2.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Plaza Theatre—"To-night is Ours," 11 a.m., 2.30 p.m., and 8 p.m. Crystal Palace Theatre—"The Crooked Lady," 12, 2.30 p.m., and 8 p.m. Everybody's Theatre—"The Maid of the Mountains," 12, 2.30 p.m., and 8 p.m. Liberty Theatre —"Forbidden Trail, and "Lucky Devils," 2.15 p.m. and 7.45 p.m. Majestic Theatre—*! am a Fugitive," 12, 2.30 p.m., and 8 p.m. Grand Theatre—"His Royal Highness," continuously from 11 a.m.
