FORMATION OF AN ORCHESTRA. Although the orchestra of the Canterbury branch of the Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association has been in existence less than two months, it already includes 18 players, and has appeared in public three times—at a recent luncheon of the Business Men's Club, at a smoke concert of the association, and at the Rannerdale Home. Mr Ernest Jamieson, for many years conductor of the Liberty Theatre orchestra, is conductor and many of the players are leading instrumentalists of Christchurch.
