TRAMPING ON BANKS PENINSULA.
YOUTH HOSTEL ASSOCIATION. The committee of the Canterbury Regional Council of the Youth Hostel Association of New Zealand, at a meeting held recently, resolved that signposts should be erected at the following place,';, for the direction of trampers on Banks Peninsula:—Two at. Port Levy, one at the end of the road at the foot of the hill leading from Purau, and one near the hostel. Two at Pigeon Bay, for the information of trampers coming from either direction, and one between Okains a,nd Le Bon's bays. It was decided to ask club secretaries to forward to the association experiences of members whilst on walks arranged by the association, togtrer , wit!l Photographs where possible, of the routes chosen and the hostels visited, as it was felt some record should be kept of the activities of affiliated clubs for ' the interest of all concerned. Mr S. Meares was elected as honorary hostel secretary of the association, and Miss Wilding as honorary organising secretary.
