CHOLMONDELEY MEMORIAL HOME.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Board of Control of the Cholmondeley Children's Memorial Home was held yesterday afternoon at the meeting room of the Young Men's Christian Association building. Mr Charles Beau, who presided, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, referred to the satisfactory balance-sheet, which, ho said, was a credit to the ladies. Although the credit balance was small, it was gratifying that the work had been carried on so well during a difficult period. He thanked the ladies, and all who had helped the work of the home during the year. On the motioD of Mrs Croasdaile Bowen a vote of thanks was passed to Dr. and Mrs J. C Pairman (Christchurch), who examine ar*l admit the children to the home. Annual Report. The report stated that during tlie year 171 children, many of whom came from the hospitals, had received the benefit of a holiday at the home. Tbc average number in the home was about 20. Certain economies had been effected satisfactorily, thanks to the capable management and loyal co-operation of Mrs Bishop and staff. The "home had been repainted during the year, Mr Cholmondeley, with his unfailing generosity* bearing the greater part of tho expenses. Expressions of Thanks. Thanks were expressed to the staff of the home and friends in Governor's Bay for organising a garden party and danco in aid of the funds of the home, to tho Canterbury Women's Club for a donation of £ll lis, and gifts of clothing, books, and toys, to the Girls' Diocesan Association for gifts of clothing, to Mrs James Maling and Mrs F. Brittan for arranging two tennis parties, to Mr George Lancaster for use of land for a kitchen garden, to Dr. Pairman, of Governor's Bay, for water supply, and to Mr H. Ell, for the gift of garden seats. "We tender thanks," the report concluded, to Drs. J. C. Pairman and Gilmour, the honorary physicians to the home; to Messrs Walter J. Moore and Son, Mho control our investments; to Mr lv. J. Loughnan, our honorary legal adviser; to Messrs Stewart and Beckett, our honorary auditors; to tho Christel) ureh Press Company for free copy of "The Press"; to Messrs Barnett, chemist, and Shrubshall, for caring for parcels; to Mr T. Radcliffe, who has carried parcels free of charge; to Messrs AuJsebrook and Company, for biscuits; to the Zealandia Soap Works, the Rotary Club, Mrs Geo. Smithson, Miss M. L. Spence, and Miss H. M". Kent, and to all those who sent money, and gifts towards Christmas." Election of Officers. The officers for the year, all of whom were re-elected, are as follows: —President, Mrs Croasdaile Bowen; vice-presi-dents, Mrs J. C. Pairman, Mrs H. Holland, and Mrs J. A. Flesher; committee, Mrs W. Chrystall, Mrs if. "Maling, Mrs Geo. Way, Mrs Derislcy Wood, and Mrs E. A. Sheate; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs C. H. Wagstaff; board of advice, Messrs Chas. Bean, W. G. Jamieson, Geo. Callender, J. A. 8.. Cookson, J. R. Coningham, G. S. . Salter ; hon. physicians, Dr. J. C. Pairman and Dr. B. Gilmour. A vote of thanks was accorded ,Mr Bean for presiding.
