MARDI GRAS CARNIVAL.

- »- Extensive preparations have been mads tot a three days' Mardi Graa carnival, which is. to be opened by the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.) in the grounds of St. Michael's Church 1it*2.30 p.m. to-morrow. There will be many attractions, including a baby show. On Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday) an old custom will be revived, and pancakes will be made and sold at the carnival. Should -the weather be wet the carnival, which will continue on Monday and Tuesday afternoon and evening of next week, will be held in the parish hall. There will be dancing each evening in- the parish hall. The proceeds are in aid of tlto funds of the day school and of the church, ■
