Cullimore retired. r Tho judge, said that there had been only two good efforts. The flugel horn was a difficult . instrument, but ;n the hands of a clever player was a very beautiful one. Its chief purpose was in helping to emphasise colouring in tho band. * In the second B grade test selection the Nelson Garrison Band secured highest marks."'The judge (Mr Frank Wright) said it was very disappointing that the standard was much lower than in the first 'est.
