METHVEN SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT.
SEVEN-A-SIDE MATCHES. The Methven District High School lield its annual seven-a-side {ootball tournament and basektball tournament on Thursday afternoon. Rain fell during the morning;, but later the weather cleared and conditions overhead were excellent. There Was a large attendance of parents and friends, and much interest was taken in the various games. Schools represented were Methven District Iligh, Methven Convert, Highbank, Lauriston, Springburn, Lyndhurst, Mt. Somerg, and Bushside. During the afternoon the pupils of the secondary department of tho Methven School conducted a 6tall fo? the sale of_ sweets of their own make, and did good business. The staff of the school had made complete arrangements for the tournament, and all events Were got off without a hitch. Referees for tho football Were Messrs 0. Dalton and \V. J. Burrows.
