GERMAN RIOTS.
SERIOUS STREET FIGHTING. COMMUNISTS USE REVOLVERS. (rKITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BI ELBCTBIC TELEGKAVH— COPYRIGHT.) (Received Aiigust 12th, 7.15 p.m.) BERLIN, August 12. Revolver shots fired at a torchlight procession at Cologne started serious rioting m which Communists were engaged, necessitating police intervention. Tho latter fired high in order to scatter tho rioters, some of whom replied with revolvers. The number of casualties is not .vet known, but it is believed to bo heavy. Many arrests were made, but firing continues. Tho public are in a state of terror, but the police say the situation this morning in hand. A later message reports that street fighting was resumed by the _ Communists, one of whom was critically wounded wl.en sniping tho police from housetops. A throat to murder the Police Commander was painted on a roadway o f Weissensee.
