A WHANGAREI SENSATION.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELES HAM.) WHANGAREI, June 26. A sensational affair is exercising the police to-day. Kathleen T$ Popo, about 24, a -waitress at a local restaurant, was discovered at 7 o'clock this morning lying dazed, bound, and gagged in an alcove in a draper's shop in Bank street. „ She had supper .with friends at a restaurant last evening, , and it is understood that she attended a dance | at Hukerenui, 20 miles distant. It is stated that she conversed with a friend | at 6 o'clock this morning six chains from where she was found.
