SCOTTISH FUNERAL.

LATE MR JAMES CALDER. Many members of the Scottish Society and Oddfellows' Lodgos the funeral of Mr James Calder, whicir took place from his late residence, 109 Watford street, Papanui, yesterday afternoon, and proceeded to tho Papanui churchyard. Mr Calder was accorded a Scottish and Oddfellows' funeral, and s service at the house was conducted by the Rev. John Miller. Piper J. Paterson, Pipe-Major of the Scottish Society's Band, played a lament before the hearse on the way to the churchyard, and also at the graveside, where a service was conducted by tho Rev. W. 11. Orbell. Among the wreaths was one of heather, with a tartan ribbon, and the pall-bear-ers, Messrs J. H. Timms, H. Osborne, J. S. Chisholm, J. Williamson, Simon Macdonald, and H. Le Page, represented the Oddfellows and the Scottish Society. Among those who attended were Messrs B. Jeffries, W. A. Taylor, H. Le Page, F. Osborne, J. Williamson, C. E. T. Hill, J. A. Guthrie, J. H. Timms, S. Robertson, G. A. D. Sutherland, F. Dick, J. Mills, W. Mills, R. Rule, W. Jones, Simon Macdonald, A. Wilson, N. Stark, G. Martin, .J. Dallev, A. Boyd, B. F. Cochran, H. J. Lack, H. Quirk, S. D. Gilray, G. Buist, A. Baldwin, H. Samuels, H. S. Clark, A. McCullough, A. A. McLachlan, T. J. Archibald, H. J. Powell, J. Shaw, T. H. O'Farrell, J. A. Ivory, C. B. Golding, T. Marshall, P. Griove, T. W. Bates, and J. Butt. Wreatliß were sent by Mr and Mrs L. Calder, Mr and Mrs Quirk, Mrs Faith, Mr and Mrs Belmer, Mr and Mrs Neilson, Mr and Mrs Burrows, Mr A. R.
