COLLEGE WAR MEMORIAL.

PLANS OP NINE YEABS AGO. For about nine years plana for a war memorial at Canterbury College have been maturing, but still the Col* lege is without on*, It was decided that the memorial should take the form of a stained window in the northern wall of the College Hall, replacing the one already there. A design was prepared by Mr Martin Travers, an English artist, and sent to the authorities at Canterbury College only to be rejected. The artist prepared a second design and submitted it, but this was liked even less. Meantime £2OOO had been raised by subscription to cover the cost. These are the negotiations of several years ago, but the erection of the memorial gefems little nearer to-day. The artist has written that he regrets thfe delay tn bringing out a new design, stating that it entails a great deal of research. Meanwhile the £2OOO is accumulating.
