Harding (Victoria). E. F. Thompson (Canterbury), J. Williams (Auckland)., Mr Ernest Freeman Thompson, M.Sc, assistant curator of the Canterbury Museum, has been Awarded the 1351 Exhibition Research Scholarship by the Senate of the University of New Zealand. The scholarship is of the value of £l5O a year, and tenOibie for two years at a British University. Open for competition among students from the four Affiliated University Colleges, it is awarded to the student whe gives distinct evidence of a capacity £oi> original research. Mr Thompson graduated M.Sc. with first-class honours in aoology from Can> terbury' College, and was capped last week. He has also been granted a free passage to England. He expects to enter a Scottish University, probably the University of Edinburgh.
