EIGHTH SUMMER SCHOOL. The eighth, annual W.E.A. summer school commenced at Geraldine yesterday and several students left by the south train. The school will be in session until January 4th. The director is Professor J. Shelley and the subiect is "The Age of Shakespeare.'' Ttie lecturers are Professor Shelley. Dr. A. G. B. Fisher (Otago | Universitv). Dr. C. E. Beeby (Canterbury College), Dr. E. E. L>. Milligan (Christchureh), and Mr J. Johnson, M.A. (W.E.A. staff tutor). The camp is being held in the GeraJdine Domain, which contains tennis courts, a cricket pitch, a swimming polo, and a bowling green, and all these facilities are available for students. The women students are accommodated in the Geraldine School, and the men are in tents. Lectures commence at 9 a.m. and continue until 12.30 p.m., and the general lecture is held each day at 11 a.m. Iu the afternoons the students are free for rambling, tennis, cricket, swimming, or bowling, and in the evening concerts and popular lectures are presented.
