BECKENHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

♦— , The monthly meeting of the Beckenham School Committee was held on Mondayj seven members and the headmaster (Mr Irwin) being present. Mr Evison was in the choir. Correspondence from Mr H. T. Armstrong, regarding accommodation was read, and it is anticipated that a definite conclusion to the neeotiations will be reached at an early date. The headmaster reported an average attendance of 526- tor the past month, the roll number being 663. He also stated that the school choir is making good progress under the tuition of Mr Peters. It was decided to postpone the picnic until February, owing to the Health Department s restrictions and other circumstances. Christmas tree matters will he discussed later. The committee decided to issue special Maorilana attendance certificates to pupils on passing out of the primary school, the Departmental certificate to be issued during the child s progress through the school
