ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE.
1 A meeting of the St. John Ambulance Brigade Finance Committee held in 'the Brigade Booms. There 'were present— Major A. L. Gray (chairman), Mesdamos M. Pyne, L. A. Bishop, M. Oordy, G. Watt, H. Robertson, Misses F. L. Cooper and G. Harper, Colonel F. W. W. Dawson, Messrs G. Peek, J. Becoonsall, F. Rudd, A. T. Hoddinott, L. Oumings, and G. Dickson. An apology for absence was received from Dr. F. J. Borrie. Tho Canterbury Rugby Union wrote enclosing a cheque for £25, and expressed appreciation of the valuable service rendered to the members of the Union by the Brigade.' Tho action of the secretary in suitably acknowledging the donation was approved. The Papanui Amateur A'thletic Association wrote enclosing a donation of £1 Is in appreciation of services rendered. The secretary reported that this had been • acknowledged with thanks. The ohairman reported that donations had also been received since the last meeting from Messrs A.' S. Legh, M. B. Cook, G. D. Ellis, and directors of the English Park Stadium Co, A statement of receipts and payments was submitted and. received. The chairman expressed his appreciation of the work of Brigade members on publio duty at the A. and P. Association Show, and other recent public gatherings. It was reported by the officer in charge of publio duty that numerous accidents had been attended to, and that the demand for the services of the Brigade was steadily increasing. •
