PIONEER SPORTS CLUB
Ou Saturday next, 1-ltU inst., Mie second series of beach races for the seasoa will be conducted at New Brighton by the Pioneer Sports Club. The events will consist of a six miles inaidon race, twenty-four miles solo open handicap, and an cii-ht miles side-car race, the weight of tiie uialo passenger for the latter event not to bo less than 9st. The first event is timed to start at 3 p.'ni. sharp. The following officials have been appointed to conduct the competitions: Handicappors, Messrs U. H. Parker and P. Haworlh; starters, Messrs R. H. Parker and 3. H. "Williams; judges. Messrs H. K. PayDO and J. Hannah; timekeepers, Messrs Parker, Williams, and Maples; course stewards, Messrs Bell, Lambert, Monkman, M. P. Jones, and Velvin; competitors' stewards, Mr G. Henderson; beach committee, Messrs Hockley, Shaw, and Burmeister.
