Jll the Taranaki tennis championships Bartleot (Auckland) had a very narrow escape from defeat by Lampe (Wanganui) in the. semi-final of the men's singles. ITe won 1!-G, C-l, 9-7. Bartleet, now meets Wilson (Wellington) in the final. In tho men's doubles, Bartleet and Griffiths Have- to play Ellis and Wilson in one semi-final, and Wallace and Dickie play Lamp and l'urkev in the other.
