MYSTERIOUS EXPLOSION IN BERLIN.
MANY DEATHS FEARED.

BERLIN. January 4
A mysterious and violent explosion occurred in a house in tho city early this morning. Tliere were a largo number of occupants, mostly in bed at the time. Half the building collapsed, and a fire started ill the wreckage. Ten persons were extricated, badly injured, and a number of others are still buried in the .ruins and it is feared that many are killed. Firemen are fighting the flames, and rescue efforts are continuing.
