PETITION FOR WINDING-UP WITHDRAWN. (BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AJCD N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received September 21st, 7.40 p.m.) September 21. The Lord Mayor has announced that the petition for the winding-up of the "Labour Daily" newspaper has been withdrawn, as the company's cheque for a certain- amount owing to the City Council has been received. [A petition for the winding-up of the Sydney "Labour Daily" Newspaper Limited was presented by the Municipal Council of Sydney, which was stated in the petition to be a creditor of the company.]
