Mr George Macaulay Trevelyan becomes Regius Professor of Modern History at Cambridge, replacing Professor John Bury.
[Mr G. M, 1 Trevelyan, who is 51 years of age, is the third son of the late Sir G. O. Trevelyan, and was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge. He served in the Great War from 1915 to 1918, and was Commandant of the Ist British Ambulance Unit for Italy. During hiß service in the latter country he was awarded the Silver Medal for Valour, and other decorations. Mr Trevelyan has written numerous historical works, the best known being those dealing with Italy during the period of unification.]
