COUNCIL TO TAKE CONTROL. A NEW BY-LAW* In future the City Council will Lave control of all hoardings erected within. the City boundaries. The report of the By-laws ami Finance Committee last evening contained the following paragraph:— ''The City Solicitor reported that when the by-laws were originally made, the Council had no power to make them retrospective with regard to hoardings existing at that date. The Council has now acquired such power, and, in view of the amendment being made in the by-laws, the committee has instructed the City Solicitor to frame a by-law in order that all hoardings may be brought under the Council's jurisdiction." The report waß adopted.
