BRASS BAND FOR PAPANUI.

A mooting -ttas held on Thursday to conaider forming a Brass Band in Papauui. Mr Eeynolds acted as chairman, and said he considered the time opportune, as '■ e was a demand and need for a band in Papanui. A set of seventeen Instruments was at present obtainable at a low price. If a committee were formed he felt sure that the money could be raised by pnblic effort. Mr Hanson stated that ho had had many years' experience as a player, and would undertake to form a good band inside twelve months if twenty or thirty young men over the ace of sixteen joined np.
