Tho winner of tho first prizo of three thousand guineas iu the Grand National Raffle, drawn at Oamaru, Alexander Thompson, is a small farmer at Tangaihi, on the banks of the Northern Wairoa River, thirty miles from Dargaville. Ho has a small section of fatty 'acres, where ho milks a,few cows. He also does share milking and other work. He is a returned soldier with a wiie. and four children, and is esteemed as a liard-working man, and ono who will make good use of tho money. He had a £1 book, of tickets.
