CYCLIST KILLED.
KNOCKED DOWN BY TRAM. ! A fatal accident occurred on Buckley's road last night, opposite the Linwood cemetery, when the 5.25 p.m. Express tram to New Brighton collided with a cyclist proceeding in the same direction. Nelson Corrie Early, the victim of the accident, was in the employ of Messrs Morrison and Morrison, ir.k makers, and resided with his parents at G7 Hawke street, New Brighton. He was a single man, aged 39 years. How tho accident occurred is not yot clear, as the deceased man was riding between the rails, and the tramcar, driven by Motorman E. Tillyshort, evidently overtook him. The ambulance was immediately called for, but the unfortunate man died on the way to the Hospital. It is understood that death was due to concussion. An inquest will be held to-day if the police are ready to proceed.
