Auckland is anxious to retain the Royal Show this year, and whether it is held here or at Palmerston 'North 6corns to depend on whether Auckland will observo a half-holiday on People's Day in honour of the e*'Dnt. The Chamber of Commerce to-day decided to ask the Mayor to proclaim Wednesday, November 17th, the scrond day of the show, a half-holiday. The Minister for Internal Affairs will also be approached.
