The Kuominchun (National Party) Army has evacuated the city Marshal Wu Pei-fu's and Allied troops haro taken control. Kuominchun troops outside tho city streamed in, demoralising the. garrison, and evacuation followed by trains, cars, carts, and foot. The Nationalist commander gave control to General Wong Shinchien, who telegraphed tho Allied leaders that thero was no need to besiege the capital. Present indications are that the Kuominchun Army will not halt before reaching Kankow Pass, north of Poking, which is now threatened by a Mauchurian" column, which fought fiercely at Fengtai until the afternoon, when it retreated, General Wing fears that the Manchurians will insist on entering the capital to-morrow. The foreign quarter is crammed with Chinese treasures, and hotel and foreign buildings aw crowded with panicstricken refugees. Marshal Tuan Chili ui has returned to the Presidential Palace and resumed the functions of Chief Executive. Marshal Tsao Kun, who seised the Presidency for three days, has gone to the Legation quarter. PARLIAMENT TO MEET. (kxrsmuaat uro v-t. cams AsaoounojO (Received April 18th, 5.5 p.m.) PEKING, April 17. The evacuation of Peking by the Kuominchun troops has been completed, and the Allies are to enter the city to-day. It is expected that Parliament will be convened immediately, with Yen Hui-Oh'ing as Prime Minister and Dr. Wellington Koo as Foreign Minister, hut plans in this connexion are subjeot to the approval of Marshal Chang lso-lin.
