- ANNUAL MEETING. j The annual meeting of the. Sumner Public Library was held on Friday evening, the Hon. J. Barr, M.L.C., presiding. The annual report was read by the secretary, Mirs Deacon, and showed that, partly owing to the epidemic during the beginning of the year, the ' library finances had fallen off. During the last two or three months there had been a satisfactory increase in the number of subscribers, the total number of which was 347. The total number of books on the shelves was 6467, including 136 new volumes for the year ending December 31st, and 23 new ones since. During the year 36 volumes had been rebound, and 56 sent to the Cashmere Sanatorium. The sum of £5 13s 9d had been received as reserving fees.
