"MORALS FOR MEN."
A PERTINENT QUESTION ASKED. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE, TO-DAY. Very opportunely this great picture comes before the public, for modern society was never more insistently confronted with the. subject dealt with than it is to-day. The story ig ono that is .brought before us nearly every day, but never a finger is lifted to give the woman juctice. Man, from the very beginning o? things, has j;one free. . J±e gees free to-day— at the expenss of what? v. ? The woman, of course And what a price she pays, even if enly a negative form of happiness is hers for a brief per.od f 'Morals for Men,' 1 although treat°(..a f&miliar subject, is an entirely unfamiliar picture. The spectator Lever knows what turn the picture will take and many are the surprises. Most emphatically, the play is . not sordid, and both the man and the woman rise to wonderful heights of unselfishness and selfsacrifice, thus lending a very high tone indeed to the whole story. Another fine production .scheduled for presentation is a colourful story from the yen of Robert Hichens, "The Lady Who Lied," released by First National. It ia an eventful 9tory that embraces . Paris, Venice at carnival time, and the sun-baked, vivid streets of ok! Algiers. Witii its bizarr? back" grounds, pulsing drama and clean-cut characterisations, it promises to be one of the most brilliant;? beautiful films ever witnessed. Allied to this splendour of colour m the _ temperamental cult of Robert Hiohem with its ve:n of paesion and intrigue. Lewis and Virginia Vaili are the principals, and appearing with them is the exotic Nita Xaldi, who introduces the glamorous atmossphere of Africa. Everybody's Select Orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr !W, J. Bellingham, F.S.M., will play a special programme of orchestral music, including: Overture, "Wait for the Waggon" (Woodhouse); suites, "Minehaha," "The Pursuit," Love Pong (Coleridge-Taylor); "Japanese Suite' (Hoist); "Chanson Indove" (RimskyKorsakov); ballet music, "Hamlet" (SaintSaens); entr'acte, "Barcarolle" (Offenbach) ; opera, "Carmen' 1 (Bizet); selection, "Katja the Dancer" (Gilbert). The box plans are now on view at The Bristol Piano Company, and intending patrons are advised to book their seats, 4s record attendances are anticipated.
