WOOL MEN AT PLAY. GROWERS V. BROKERS. The annual cricket matches between Christchurch Wool-growers and Wool-brokers were held at Hagley Park yesterday. Brokers' won the first elevens' match by 170 runs ou the first innings, and Growers beat Brokers in the second elevens' match by 61 runs on the first innings. Growers batted first in the main match, and made 107, S. Rutherford getting the highest score, 28. C. E. Evans took the whole ten wickets, clean bowling nine men. Brokers replied with 277, the three best scorers being I. M. Hamilton with 65, S. G. Lester 52, and O. E. Evans (retired) 57. Growers followed on, with 170 to make to avoid an innings' defeat There were nine wickets down for 158, but P. Macfarlane and G. Fulton made a good last-wicket stand. Evans took the last over, and bowled Macfarlane with his sixth ball. Scopes:—
