MOUNT MAGDALA RECITAL.

A splendid" programme is arranged for the recital at the Theatre Royal this evening. Kathleen Garven will sing arias, English and French songs, including "0 Don Fatale" (Verdi), "Sapphio Ode," and "Lullaby" by Brahms, etc. Mr Alfred J. Bunz will include in his numbers "Reverie" by Schutt, "Canzonetta" by Seschezky. Bernard Barker, the young English violinist is known for his remarkably developed technique in Europe, as well as in JSew Zealand, and he will be heard in Beethoven's Fj Flat trio for violin, piano, and 'cello, with Claude Williams, pianist, and Reginald Jones,, violoncellist. Joyce 1 SethSmlth, who is the possessor of a very beautiful voice, will make her first appearance in Christchurch. A very interesting work for ladies' voice 3 by "Schumann" will be performed by a number of students, the solos being taken by Mrs Leeming. Anita Graham who won so many laurels at this year's Competitions, will sing a Russian cradle 6ong, of the poor, by "Moussorgsky," and "Comin' Thro' the Rye." .Kellie Hayward the organiser, will be at the piano. The box plan is open at The Bristol.
