NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
A missionary talk will ho given in tho Y.M.C.A. concert hall to-day. Entries for all grades of the Roval Academy ana Boyal College of Music .theory examinations will close to-morrow at 4 p.m. Tne monthly meeting of the Canterbury Fruitgrowers' Association will he held on Saturday night. ■ Mr L. O. Stanton, of the Oriental Missionary Society, will give a missionary talk in the Y.M.C.A. Concert Hall at 7.30 tonight. This Society, is a product of the •ChV-stian Church in Great Britain and America, and has missionaries in Japan, Kqrea and China. The Society is entirely interdenominational, and the fascinating' story of its triumphant march through Japan will be told 'in this evening's lecture.
