VOTING ON LOAN PROPOSALS. (PEESS ASSOCIATION TZLEGRAIt) AUCKLAND, April 2V. The proposal to borrow £340,000 for a civic square scheme was .defeated, the voting being: For, 4172/; against, 4913, with three returns to/come.
The loan of £12,000 for a new library at Remuera was carried, the voting being: For, 4038; against, 3924.
