SCHOOL COMMITTEE. (SMCIAL TO "Tfflß ?MWS.")

GEEYMOUTH, April 29. The following School Committee was elected at Boss:—Messrs H. Osmers (chairman), J. Holmes, J. W. Kennedy, P. Mitchell, W. H. Merrick, and A. W. Peebles (secretary-treasurer). Hokitika Water Supply.

Complaints are being made by the householders in Hokitika about the quality of the water from the auxiliary pipe-line. It is said to contain impurities. The main pipe-line is beng overhauled in order to enable a supply to be drawn direct from Lake Kanieri.

Personal Mr Paul Holmes, of Eeefton, is undergoing special treatment at Christchurch for an affection of the eyes. At a meeting of the Hokitika Beautifying Society a vote of thanks was accorded Mr G. A. Wood, late chairman of the Borough Eeserves Committee, for his work for the Society.

Wedding. Mr Claude Walsh was married on Monday at St. Canice's Church, Wostport, to Miss -Mary Hennessy, of Mne Mile road. Tho couple left after *the ceremony for Nelson.
