Mr John Todd, City Corporation Surveyor, who served the dangerous structure notice the Dean and Chapter of St. IW*. outlined to pressfnen a scheme to 6avc St. Paul s, which ho said "w'U malvc you gasp." He would hold the dome in its present position with temporary supports and take' down and rebuild the present rotten piers, which, owing to "Wren's inferior filling, carried thrice (lie weight that solid Portland stone should. Mr Todd said that lie would make a great round base of concrete <3V feet thick under the Cathedral. It was no boy's job, but another labour of Hercules.

As we.announced a few days ago. we have opened our columns to the publication of particulars of such contributions as may be sent by readers of "The Press" in aid of the fund for the carrying out of the work necessary to secure tho safety of St. Paul's Cathedral in London. This venerable and historic building, one of the giorics of London, and a precious possession of the Empire, is in serious danger, and repairs are urgently necessary. Onr readers are invited to assist in this good work. We have received the following for the fund:
