MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The General Committeo of the Ellosmcro A. and P. Association met at Lceston on Thursday, when there were present Messrs I. McGill (proaidea i),. W. Johnston, H. .Mc•Lcnaghon, L. B. Coc, T. A. Stephens, J. C. Chamberlain, W. J. Lemon, G. JS'airu, A. J. Inwood, A. McPhcrscn, G. 11. BarE«tt, A. E. Withell, W. O. Rennio, A. McLaughlin, R. G. McClure, E. E. Jenkins, S Johnston, H. Gajpin, G. McLachlan, J. Boag, jun., and VJ. McLachlra. Apologies for absence were received from Mcasrs L. W. Storry, W. liochhead, John Brooks, and H. Schfcclle. The preeident eaid that tho etalement ot accounts of tho ploughing match had not $-ot been prepared, but there would probably be a credit balance. Ono member said that at some ploughing matches tho winners' tiok»te were put on whilo the teams were on tho field, eo that the public could see who wore tho winners right away. The secretary said that tho tickets were available, but no one came for them. Tho matter could bo adjusted on a future occasion. ■' Arrangements for the next annual show wera commenced. .It was decided to call tenders for the provision of luncheon for the committee, and for a public luncheon booth. , ~,. The meeting resolrod to ask tho Ellesmore Bras 3 and Highland Pipe Bands to attend the show. . Mr J. Boag asked why estimates of tho coat of enlarging the secretary's office and making alterations to other buildings had not been called for, na had been agreed upon at a meeting' of tho Ground CornMr A. E. Witholl Baid ho understood that shelter for cattle was to h»Te been erected. Ho thought this was more urgent than a new secretary's office. . Proposals for tho enlargement and improvement of the Show Ground woro considered. . , ~, .... Mr T. A. Stephens BUggeatcd that if tno ground could be rearranged so as to mako it available for sports, etc., a scheme for alterations would in all probability be strongly supported. Assistance might also be obtained from tho Ellesmero Domain "Board. _ . _, . It -was explained that tho Doma-.n Board subsidised only those bodies, whoso grounds were Tested in the Board. ■ ~. Mr Stephens emphasised tho point tliat, as the expenditure of £SOO or £IOOO, was needed to make the grounds what they ought to ho, the Association should have a r>roper plan to -work to. Mr 3. Johnston said be thought the present ground was too small. M£ V. r . Johnston suggested having a plan for remodelling drawn up by an expert, and the proposed _ work carried out, but 'not ceceMarily all in ono year.
